Crashworthiness and optimization of novel concave thin-walled tubes

چکیده

In this work, a new type of energy-absorbing thin-walled tubes with concave angles is proposed by unique structural design method to improve the crashworthiness performance traditional hexagonal tube (TH). These structures (CTSs) are named CTS1, CTS2, and CTS3 respectively, while CTS1 developed common method. The crushing behaviors investigated quasi-static compression experiments numerical simulations. energy dissipation mechanism all investigated, results demonstrate that exhibits superior absorption capability than other TH same mass. Then, mean crush resistance CTSs predicted theoretical analysis, influences slenderness rate, boundary condition, loading rate on responses performed analysis. Besides, comparative analysis performances typical (TCTs) carried out, indicate has best capacity among these tubes. addition, optimal structure parameters explored enhance further.
